A few words...

During my four years at Park I have been on the girls swimming & diving team, the tennis team, and captain of the girls soccer team. I am the secretary/treasurer of the National Honor Society and the Vice President of the National Art Society. I am also one of the yearbook editors, enrolled in A.P. studio art, have been involved with the French club, and am a school lifeguard. My involvements in the community include student leading in my church’s youth group, participating in missions trips, volunteering in the nursery, and singing on the worship team. I was also an artist in the Downtown Racine Corporation’s 2004 art project and participated in Relay for Life. This summer and last summer, included, I will be working at Timber-lee Christian center as a counselor and lifeguard.

In the fall I will be attending Indiana Wesleyan University with aspirations to pursue a major in writing or journalism. I also intend to be involved in cross-cultural missions work.

I have been a member of the Park High School DECA chapter for the past two years. I am the school store manager this year. The last two years I participated at the DECA State Career Development competition, where I competed in Sports and Entertainment Marketing. Throughout the school year, I participated in various community service events. Some of the events include: Festival of Trees, Zoo Boo, coaching a 3rd grade team, and gift-wrapping at the mall. I served as Park Girls’ Basketball captain this year. I have been involved in volleyball and basketball programs for the past four years. I served as Class Secretary for the past year. I have maintained a 4.0 grade point average for my four years in high school. I was chosen to attend the Badger Girls State last summer.

I am attending UW Oshkosh next year. I plan to receive a degree in Elementary Education and a minor in special education. I have always enjoyed working with children, and I plan to help them learn, so they can prepare for their future. After college I hope to live in Racine and be a teacher in a school near by. After my career has started I plan to marry and eventually start a family of my own.

Nick Simon

A few words...

Nick Simon has been very active in his four years at Park. Besides being a four- year honor student, finishing seventh in his class, Nick has also been involved in many other areas of life in high school. As a freshman, Nick joined Cross Country and Track teams, an endeavor he has continued all four years. Throughout his years of running, Nick has been awarded several all-county and all-conference team awards and was even named to the all-state team for Cross Country. He was also named team captain for both sports his senior year. Another four-year endeavor for Nick has been the drama club where he has participated in fourteen different productions. As a junior, Nick joined the National Honor Society and the Constitution Bowl Team. Although it has kept him very busy, Nick is glad that he has gotten the opportunity to work with so many interesting people through extra-curriculars at Park.

After graduation Nick has no plans so slow down. Next year Nick will be attending the University of Minnesota. There he intends to study engineering to become either an aerospace or marine engineer. After graduation from college, Nick would like to find a job with a large firm such as Boeing or Lockheed Martin and work doing research and development on new technologies to improve the transportation industry.
