DON A. OLSON - Class of 1948

A few words...

Dr. Don A. Olson is Consultant in Medical Rehabilitation Education at the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago. Educated at the University of Wisconsin (BS) and Northwestern University Medical School (MA and PhD) he is a respected expert in the field of speech and language therapy. Dr. Olson has held key positions on numerous committees and boards and has received many awards of merit. Currently, he coordinates the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago’s publication series which focuses on speech-language, aphasia, and traumatic brain injury. Also, he is the Coeditor of the Journal Topics in Stroke Rehabilitation and a new manual on Technology in Rehabilitation.

Michael Muoio - Class of 1970

A few words...

After earning his BA and MBA at UW-Madison, Michael Muoio put his business expertise to work building companies and serving communities. He tripled sale of Little Goldenbooks while Project Manager for Western Publishing. As Vice-President of Harlequin Books in Toronto, he mounted a successful four year “Romance War” against a rival publisher, consolidating Harlequin’s preeminent worldwide position in romance fiction. He is currently President, Chairman, and CEO of catalog giant Miles Kimball. Mr. Muoio set a fund-raising record as Chairman of the Oshkosh United Way and is chief administrator of the Miles Kimball Foundation, which funds twenty UW-Oshkosh scholarships and recently contributed $500,000 to the construction of a new YMCA.

NICHOLAS W. ZABIT - Class of 1936

A few words...

Born in South Milwaukee and raised in Racine, Zabit was the Salutatorian of Park’s Class of 1936. He graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in 1943, achieving the rank of Captain. He earned many awards of distinction over 36 years of service in the Coast Guard reserves. He held several different management positions working as an accountant for the Department of the Treasury and the IRS in Racine and Madison. A tireless volunteer who was active in his church and community, he served as a Cub Scout Master, YMCA youth counselor, Red Cross Water Safety instructor, Sunday School teacher, church cantor and choir member, and a member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Nicholas passed away on November 14, 2001 and is survived by his wife Nancy, their seven children, 16 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

REINHARDT N. SABEE - Class of 1932

A few words...

A pioneer in the design of machines that make disposable hospital and nursing home products, Sabee founded the R. Sabee Company in Appleton in 1945. A graduate of UW-Madison in mechanical engineering, he holds nearly 70 patents. His machines were renowned for their innovative products, such as disposable diapers, and for their ease of operation. His company developed spun-bonded fabrics that are used in disposable health care products worldwide. A strong believer in teaching and sharing knowledge of product and machine design, Sabee has passed his enthusiasm and knowledge on to his three children and ten grandchildren, many of whom work for the company he founded.

TERRENCE HELD - Class of 1970

A few words...

Lieutenant Terrence Held looks back with great pride on twenty-five years of service with the Racine Fire Department. Over this span, his duties have included firefighter, fire inspector, fire investigator, and fire prevention educator. In 2001 he was awarded the state Fire Inspector of the Year. Through his efforts, safety programs have been established for learners from preschool through high school. Project Save-A-Life and SAFE (Smoke Alarms for Everyone) have been maintained in our community thanks to fund-raising and grants obtained by Lt. Held. In his own words, he accepts the induction into Park’s Hall of Fame with consideration to his comrades who serve their communities in this noble profession.

WILLIAM F. HENKEN - Class of 1940

A few words...

Dr. William F. Henken left Park High in 1940 as the Vice-President of his class, and returned to his community later to serve as President of the Racine County Medical Society. After his graduation from Northwestern Medical School and a stint in the Naval Reserve, Dr. Henken began his practice in pediatrics in Racine in 1950. Throughout his career he has demonstrated a commitment to bringing health care to all segments of society, as evidenced by his participation in the Children’s Service Society, the Headstart Program, and the Newborn Free Clinic. Dr. Henken also supervised the first county wide measles immunization program.
